About Fiftyfold
Fiftyfold is a collection of fifty genuine patience variants — the real
rulesets, properly implemented, in one app that never asks you for anything
again.
Klondike and FreeCell are here, of course. So are Seahaven Towers, Russian
Solitaire, Baker's Game, Eight Off, Simple Simon, Black Hole, Mrs. Mop,
Beleaguered Castle, Forty Thieves, Scorpion, Penguin, Storehouse and thirty-six
more, organised into ten families so you can find the kind of game you are in
the mood for.
WINNABLE, IF YOU WANT IT TO BE
Every variant carries a bank of deals that this app has already solved offline,
using the solver built into it. Switch "guaranteed solvable" on and every deal
you are given is one with a proven winning line — the game stops being about
luck and becomes a puzzle. Switch it off for an honest random deal that may or
may not go. It is your choice, per variant, and it is a choice no other
solitaire collection offers.
FIFTY RULESETS, NOT FIFTY SKINS
Each variant is a real, distinct game with its own topology and its own legality
rules: how you build, what you may carry, what fills an empty column, how the
stock behaves, how you win. A summary of every rule is written out for you
before you play, generated from the same data the engine runs on, so it can
never be wrong.
EIGHT CARD SETS
Traditional, Minimalist, Large Print, Art Deco, Botanical, Nautical, Bauhaus and
Midnight — each a complete fifty-two card face set with its own courts, back and
table surface. The Large Print set was built for anyone who has ever squinted at
a solitaire app: oversized indices and maximum contrast, with no compromise
anywhere else.
A REASON TO KEEP GOING
A statistics ledger for every variant: games played, win rate, best time, fewest
moves, longest streak. Thirty-two awards spanning the whole collection, from
your first win to taking all fifty. A daily deal — the same deal for everyone on
the same day, generated from the date itself, so it works with no connection at
all. And a School for each variant: an authored strategy note explaining how the
game is actually won, plus worked deals with the winning line laid out move by
move.
BUILT TO BE PLEASANT
Drag a card and it comes with everything legal that sits on it. Tap it and it
goes to the best legal place. Undo is unlimited, all the way back to the deal.
A hint button runs the solver for a moment and shows you a move worth making.
Cards can send themselves to the foundations when it cannot cost you the game.
Haptics, card handling sounds and six ambient music beds, all of which you can
turn off.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
No adverts. No in-app purchases. No subscription. No account, no sign-in, no
email address. No network requests of any kind — the app has no networking code
in it at all. Nothing is collected, nothing is transmitted, and your statistics
never leave your device. One purchase, and then it is simply yours.
Universal: one purchase covers iPhone and iPad. Plays in portrait and landscape.
Everything works on a plane.
